IT On-Site Support Team Leader

WSP is currently hiring IT Support professionals to support our project delivery capability across multiple projects in the UAE.
Your new role, what’s involved?
I guide, support, and coach the IT on-site support team that is distributed across the Middle East region so that they are well-equipped to fulfill their daily support tasks.
I monitor and manage the IT support queue, ensuring that all incidents and requests are assigned to the correct resource, and resolved within agreed service levels.
I manage escalation requests that can be resolved by an on-site technician.
I Connect and collaborate with the WSP Global IT team so that recurring issues are investigated and resolved.
I work with project managers who require physical assistance from IT technicians to complete various projects, then coordinate this work with my team or suppliers as needed.
I participate in creating and maintaining tech bars that offer a walk-in IT service in the main WSP sites.
I ensure the preparation of workstations for new employees is done on time and I coordinate with the asset management and procurement teams to ensure sufficient stocks of IT equipment.
I work closely with the Middle East Service Delivery team to better understand IT challenges and optimize the distribution of my team to meet the needs.
I collaborate in the continuous improvement of ITSM processes.
I lead by example, performing On-Site Support activities where needed, with the highest of quality and standards so my team has a good example to emulate.
I participate in the documentation of IT incident resolution processes.
I participate in the development of long-term strategies and planning for the future needs of IT services.
I ensure my team’s consistent and accurate updates to the CMDB.
I act as the point of contact for senior management regarding IT support issues, providing regular updates and reports on performance and ITSM on-site support-related KPIs.
I act as an escalation point for o- site support-related issues, with a focus on resolution.
I escalate complex issues to the relevant support team, including third-party suppliers, where necessary.
I conduct regular performance reviews with IT support technicians, identifying training needs and opportunities for development.

I have at least 6-8 years of experience in IT service delivery within a large Enterprise class organization, with a minimum of two of those years in a similar IT support team leader role.
I have strong technical knowledge of IT systems and infrastructure, with experience supporting a range of hardware and software.
I have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of IT support technicians.
I am customer-focused, with the ability to provide a high level of service to internal customers.
Excellent organizational skills and able to apply clear thinking and structure to my daily way of working.
Able to travel to the Sharjah office as frequently as required and occasionally to other Middle East regional offices.
I am ITIL certified and have an in-depth understanding and experience of the ITIL framework.
Experience and knowledge of ServiceNow.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
Degree or certificate in computer science or other computer-related discipline.
I can work independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively as a team member in the accomplishment of goals.

WSP is looking for an experienced, strategically minded and results driven Advisory Director – Environment and sustainability with regional and international experience. the succesful candidate will be accountable for the strategic leadership, direction, operational performance and people leadership of the business unit. will be a key player on the Middle East Strategic Leadership Team in driving the development of the business and the Middle East Discipline Leadership Team in driving performance of the business. he will also be responsible for the Project Director role for selected multi and single disciplinary projects across WSP in the ME. The role holder must take a ‘hands on’ approach to all aspects of the role.
Your new role, what’s involved?
The focus in this position is split between, but not limited to, four key areas;
Business Leadership
Provide leadership and support for the E&S business unit across the Middle East region
Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies
Contribute to the delivery of WSP’s overall business budgets and forecasts
Setting and delivering profit & loss business unit budget and forecasts.
Business Development
Lead or support selected region, country or sector to support the business in keeping up to date on the market status and maximising opportunities for WSP
Proactively support business development activities through participation in external market profile raising activities and functions
Actively develop external and internal client relationships and proactively co-sell other WSP services and where applicable the wider business.
Project Leadership
To act as project director on selected projects by leading and managing the successful delivery of high quality multi and single disciplinary projects
Ensure proactive project planning, stakeholder and risk management takes place across projects
Support the team to identify, assess and manage major project risk and secure the best commercial return from the projects in their portfolio
Accountable for the completion of monthly management project reports to be issued by set deadline.
Technical
Keep up to date with industry developments with respect to own discipline, other disciplines and engineering innovations and developments on a global scale
Contribute to and lead technical solutions on projects
Drive innovation and utilise technological advancement.

• Define Mechanical Engineering strategies and undertake feasibility works across numerous project types in UAE
• Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
• Undertake project reviews and checking in accordance with QA procedures
• Undertake line manager responsibility for mechanical engineering team o Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies

Requirements

• Am a chartered engineer
