Full Details of The American School Doha Jobs 2022
The role of the art teaching assistant is to provide assistance to the school program under the supervision of the art specialist teachers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Organize materials to be used during the instructional day
- Assist with the development of learning displays
- The school nurse will inform the assistants of students in their classroom/grade level that have medical issues that may require special attention
- Provide assistance to all art classrooms at every grade level as needed
- Prepping art materials: sketchbooks, paint bottles, etc.
- Supervising bathroom/nurse etc. break
- Load and upload drying rack and kiln
- Mount and un mounts artwork
- Matt and frame art work
- Make labels for the art show (framed art show, end of the year show, etc)
- Delivering artwork to classes; looking for missing artwork
- Cleaning up LE and UE art room and materials
- Creating bulletin boards
- Glazing student projects as necessary
- Supervise students when assigned recess duty
- Create flyers, art examples, templates, etc.
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Skills:
- Competency as a team member of the staff
- Work independently with a minimum of supervision; follow oral and written instructions; and interact with staff in a helpful, courteous and friendly manner, demonstrating a sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
- Work well under pressure and possess the ability to multitask, organize, take initiative and provide quality on-time delivery.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma and/or the equivalent and (2) years relevant experience
- Computer Literate for both Mac and PC
- Proficient in the English Language (reading/writing/speaking)
- Ability to work as a team player
- Work well with children
- Demonstrated excellent level organizational, administrative and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and safeguard confidential information.
- Experience in a similar International and/or Regional environment is an advantage

Desirable skills:
- Artistic knowledge- for example being able to properly matt a picture, ability to create a visually pleasing presentations (bulletin boards)
