Stantec is currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Services Engineering) to join our dynamic team in Dubai.
Some of the key job responsibilities of this role entail this following:
Purpose:
To supervise the development of the functional designs of a project in line with Stantec’s Quality Standards, Client and Statutory Authority requirements
Responsibilities:
•\tBe responsible for all aspects of the Electrical Design delivery on projects assigned to the individual
•\tWill lead, manage and take ownership of the Electrical Design team engaged in accurate and quality driven delivery of various projects
•\tCommunicates and coordinates with all Disciplines and Stakeholders on a daily basis, and when required the ability to coordinate with teams across other Stantec Global offices.
•\tDemonstrates an understanding of budgeting and supporting requirements for project / bids
•\tExcellent communication skills and the ability to liaise directly with Clients, Statutory Authorities, and other 3rd parties as required.
•\tDemonstrates ownership qualities, for the team quality, and the timely delivery of projects
•\tDemonstrates ability to master being a discipline specific Senior Design Engineer as defined by Stantec procedures
•\tDemonstrates sound understanding of other related building design disciplines
•\tDemonstrates mentoring capability
•\tKeeping all project related documentation in compliance with Stantec systems, processes, and procedures.
•\tAnticipates challenges and project risks and recommends necessary mitigating measures, and where necessary relates these internally to Commercial Team and, externally, to Client/Client Representatives..
Qualifications:
•\tA discipline specific design team leader with a demonstrable career progression with an Electrical bias in the field of Building Services Engineering
•\tExcellent communicator, both oral and written, who can concisely and with sufficient detail direct supporting engineering staff.
•\t12+ years of post-graduate experience
•\tMinimum of five (5) within the Middle East region, preferably the UAE
•\tFull understanding of standard industry software
•\tExperience of working with International Consultants
•\tExperience of working within a team of 10•\tRelevant discipline Engineering Degree, preferably from an industry recognized European or North American Education Institute
•\tPreferably Chartered Status (CEng/P.Eng), registered with an industry recognized body
•\tMembership to relating professional body in country of origin and local region – CIBSE, IEE, IET or other

Senior Process Engineer
Stantec is looking for a Process Engineer for the UAE based in their Dubai or Abu Dhabi office.
We are looking for someone with expertise in water/wastewater characterization and basis of design, alternatives evaluation (optioneering), process definition, conceptual, preliminary and detailed design (liquid, sludge and odour stream design, preparation of P&IDs, layouts, process flow diagrams…etc), estimating, reviewing, commissioning, operation and process optimization.
Experience with reverse osmosis seawater and brackish water desalination plants is an advantage.
Experience with membrane processes is an advantage.
Key accountabilities for this position are:
• Leads and manages all sizes of wastewater projects and lead multi-disciplinary teams through planning, design and construction for wastewater clients.
• Provide technical leadership on projects including treatment process design, pipeline and pump station design, and overall design management.
• Participate in the development of proposals (estimating the Level of Effort and pricing) and contracts by working directly with clients, business developers and delivery teams.
• Interact with clients, local and remote Stantec staff, permitting agencies and other consulting firms in the execution of engineering projects.
• Gather information, develop and evaluate alternatives, and prepare engineering reports.
• Perform engineering calculations and prepare detailed design drawings and specifications.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior-level staff.
• Coordinate with Group Leader and technical staff on issues related to pursuit selection, project staffing, review of technical work, and project management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
• BSc/MSc in Engineering (Environmental/ Process / Chemical) with reputable and accredited university, Professional Engineering Registration in the United States or a Chartered Engineer in the United Kingdom or any other recognized Professional Institution (MMUP)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in conceptual, preliminary, detailed design of physical/chemical water treatment technologies including membranes and physical/chemical/biological wastewater treatment technologies (membrane applications is a plus) and odour treatment technologies.
• Municipal and/or industrial water/wastewater process design, conceptual and detailed engineering and operations experience including physical/chemical/biological treatment, regulatory compliance.
• Water/wastewater treatment plant experience with general plant processes, biosolids, and nutrient removal, eg. conventional and advanced water/wastewater treatment unit processes including membrane applications. Robust knowledge and experience with Activated Sludge Systems is a must.
•\tKnowledge and experience with steady state and dynamic process modelling
• Background in multidisciplinary facility design with project management experience
• Strong interpersonal communication skills required to foster client relationships and managing project teams.
