Structures/Facilities Maintainer (OCONUS)
SOSi is seeking a Structures/Facilities Maintainer. The structures tasks performed shall include but not be limited to carpentry and masonry modernization and alterations, sheet metal, welding, locksmithing, and minor movement and reconfiguration of furniture.
Responsibilities
- Constructs, remodels, retrofits and repairs interior and exterior structures made of wood, drywall, plaster, concrete or brick.
- Works from blueprints, specifications, drawings and instructions to design, build, remodel, retrofit, maintain and repair various types of facilities and structures.
- Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors; estimate cost, time and materials for carpentry projects.
- Plans, installs, repair,s alters, and/or replaces furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and finishes to include doors, flooring, ceilings, and cabinets as necessary. This also includes inspection, maintenance, repair or improvement of roofing components, windows, exterior drainage, plus exterior walkways and covers.
- Maintain key accountability on the BEST Key Code system plus all locks, safe and vault doors, dial and cipher locks, to include installation, combination changes, disabling or penetrating inoperative locks (such as a Mass Hamilton X-09/X-10) IAW DoD Lock.
Qualifications
- Active in Scope TS/SCI security clearance.
- Must be familiar with locking mechanisms and fabricate keys to replace lost or damaged keys.
- Knowledge of welding and sheet metal fabrication for minor maintenance and repair of flashing, ducting, fencing, turnstiles, signage, and other structural components and be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical gates.
- Must be a GSA certified locksmith.
- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking. Must be able to safely use manual tools and power equipment common in the construction trades.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of the Air Force or Army culture, language and expectations for mission success.
- Experience with residential and commercial HVAC and plumbing is highly desired.
- Fluency in a foreign language is desirable, but not required.
Working Conditions
- Physical requirements include lifting, climbing, extended sitting or standing, or other physical efforts that are normally required. Working conditions include a combination of an office environment and outdoor activities. Outside working conditions include potential exposure to extreme high temperatures, dry and dusty conditions.
- Required PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and Lifts and carries all types of working materials and equipment of the trade depending on the assignment hearing protective devices.
- May handle materials and equipment that weighs over 50 pounds or more.

Plumber
SOSi is seeking an experienced Plumber to support a Facilities Maintenance and Material Support contract with our government customer at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.
Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, or replaces domestic hot and cold water lines.
- Maintains and repairs general plumbing components to include toilets, urinals, faucets, hose bibs, and drains.
- Repairs and replaces pneumatic steam valves, radiator valves, traps, and steam and condensate pipes.
- Repairs and replaces domestic hot water heat pumps, chilled water pumps, sump pumps, and sewage pumps.
- Installs, tests, and repairs all sizes of backflow prevention devices.
- Performs inspections and preventive maintenance on plumbing systems and components.
- Assembles pipe sections, tubing, or fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking, or soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
- Leads troubleshooting efforts and repairs steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Provides sketches and dimensions used by drafters to create plans for subcontractor work.
- Researches catalogs and vendor services for complex and/or customized system retrofits.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Installs pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers or water heaters, or fixtures such as sinks or toilets, using hand or power tools.
- Keeps records of work assignments.
- Fills pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observes pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.
- Locates and marks the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, or fixtures in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers or levels.
- Measures, cuts, threads, or bends pipe to required angle, using hand or power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, or pipe-bending machines.
- Reviews blueprints, building codes, or specifications to determine work details or procedures.
- Anchors steel supports from ceiling joists to hold pipes in place.
Qualifications

- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in residential, commercial, and industrial systems.
