Job Title : Manager Quantity Surveying
Job Code : VAC-001823
Location : QA

Job Purpose

To manage the commercial functions of the delivery of a series of high-value Qatar Airways Projects within Qatar and outside Qatar (Outstations) which includes the Works related to Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways, and its subsidiaries. To maximize project margin and add value to the construction process by proactive involvement in procurement, cost management, and reporting.

Main Responsibilities

Strategic

• Review, recommend and process the fee proposals for individual projects based on the specific requirement of the project for approvals.
• To enhance the processes of preparation of budget estimate, tender documents, measurement and costing, tendering procedures, award of Contracts, preparation of contract documents, review and coordination with the Engineers, end-users, and stakeholders within and outside the department.
• To carry out monthly financial re\1ews (CV R’s) on projects and forecast final outturn values for cost sales and margin. Maximize the value of monthly applications and measurement and submission of contract variations.

Operational

• To drive the best value from suppliers and subcontractors. Formalize the standard documents for the effective functions of the section.
• As a member of the tender evaluation team, responsible to review, recommending the Technical and Commercial submissions, and endorsing for Tender committee approval. Review and approve the tender and contract documents.
• Accountable for review and approval letter of award, payment certifications, variations, Final Account, and completion certificates.
• Manage and produce accurate financial reports in accordance with the business timetable.
• Monitor all commercial information in relation to the project including labor, material, and sub-contractor cost forecasting thus ensuring budgets are adhered to.
• Manage all costs relating to projects from the initial calculations to the final figures prepare the Project Cost Estimate and review the cost Analysis for Qatar Airways projects. Ensure effective control of costs in all activities.
• Liaison with Qatar Airways’ internal Departments (Procurement, Contracts, Finance, and Budget) for the management of the projects.
• Identify, assess and resolve financial and contractual risks for the project, analyze outcomes and prepare detailed project reports and Financial close reports for the projects

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience
• Engineering degree
• RICS Certificate
• ClOB Certificate.

Assistant Venue Manager

Assistant

The Assistant Venue Manager (AVM) will report directly to the Capital Projects Venue Manager who manages the Passenger Over Flow Area Facility during the FIFA World Cup 2022 from the 1st October 2022 to 31st December 2022, for the profitable development and management of the POA Facilities and to manage a dynamic team of staff for the different zones, whilst ensuring the very best customer experience in a safe and secure environment. The post holder will be expected to make a major contribution to POA venue Commercial short-term objectives.

Main Responsibilities (This is not the complete list)

• The Assistant Venue Manager (AVM) will be in charge of managing the operation of the POA – Passenger
• Overflow Area. This will include, managing all stakeholders and understanding and supervising all operations. They will ensure that the location is safe and equipped on a daily basis for hosting guests of the
• POA prior to their departure from HIA. The candidate will also be responsible for managing the grounds and property maintenance and supervising all staff members.
• Monitoring the contractors and overlay deliverable timelines to ensure POA facilities are ready for the operational period.
• Preparing the documentation, policies and procedures for the facilities in compliance with Qatar Airways and the other stakeholder’s standards.
• Overseeing the procurement, delivery and installation/storage of equipment for POA facilities.
• Organizing and participating in regular review meetings to discuss the delivery and readiness of POA
• facilities with all external and internal stakeholders
• Overseeing the handover and handback of POA facilities for the operational period
• Working with Facility Management Services provider ensure that the facilities are maintained at the appropriate standards during the operation period.
• Ensure all furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) requested is provided and set-up in accordance to what has been spaced planned on the site and f100rplan drawings.
• Take responsibility for own ongoing personal development and growth of expertise.
• Keep up to date with market trends and developments.
• Assist in the response to any emergency or a major operational disruption affecting Qatar Airways or its subsidiaries, including support of the Qatar Airways Special Assistance Program.
• Train staff in various duties as per business requirements.
• Ensure that in performance of the role, all uses, disclosures and requests of any information (in any form) are done in accordance with data protection principles adopted by the QR Group and are limited to what is reasonably required to accomplish the intended business purposes of the use, disclosure or request.
• Comply with all relevant company policies and procedures regarding the use, processing, disclosure and security of any information (in any form) and ensure that all staff under my direct supervision are aware of and comply.
• Consult the Group’s Data Protection Officer in matters related to data protection and privacy as appropriate.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
•  Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a coordinator role, in Sports Events or mega-events, (FIFA
• Tournament, UEFA Football Championship, AFC Asian Cup), is a plus.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience as a venue or event manager.
