Job summary
• SP3D Piping Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing piping systems using SP3D software. The job includes assessing plant processes, identifying and evaluating system risks, determining the best piping configurations, and creating drawings and specifications on-site.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
• 10 years in Offshore Oil & gas industrial plants;
• Software: SP3D knowledge is a must
• Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
• Designing and creating 3D models and drafting activities of piping, supports, equipments and extraction of isometrics / 2D drawings;
• Performing calculations related to piping design;
• Prepare piping layouts and conceptual design drawings;
• Reviews drawings and vendor equipment documentation for compliance with project requirements;
• Interaction with stress analysis team for optimization of routing with sufficient flexibility and support feasibility for an optimized routing.
• Interface with other engineering disciplines;
• Conducts reviews of models using the 3D Review platform;
• Develop preliminary Bills of Materials concerning piping design.
• Preparation of Piping Material Class data sheet
• Coding of piping components in SP3D Catalogue
• Reviewing and marking-up Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs)

Interface lead Engineer
– Perform desk top route selection, evaluation studies and relevant maps preparation
– Carry out route reconnaissance surveys
– Develop the pipeline route mechanization design
– Prepare topographical survey tender documents
– Plan, manage and supervise the topographic surveys work
– Prepare alignment sheets and detailed crossings drawings
– Prepare bill of quantities for construction estimation
– Participate in the definition and selection of construction methodologies and techniques
– Assess the application of trenchless technologies (HDD, micro tunnelling, tunnelling, etc.)
– Participate at line pipe material selection process and wall thickness calculation
– Prepare material take offs for major and accessories pipeline materials
– Prepare material technical bid evaluations and ensure relevant follow up
– Learn/Improve the knowledge and use of the available software for pipeline design
– Ensure interfaces with project team and other Company function during the project execution
– Ensure that documents, calculations, reports are developed in compliance with the governing project legislation and standardisation
– Ensure estimating activities during the tender phase in compliance with project requirements
– Provide field engineering and as-built documents preparation
– Concur in the definition/updating of department standards and procedures as well as ensure adequate feed back/lesson learned from projects

Duties and Responsibilities
– He reports to the Construction Manager.
– Field Engineering is the logical continuation of engineering activities carried out at Home
Office.
– He is responsible for the checking and the correct management of the Project documentation, of the amendments and/or additions to the same.
– He cooperates with the Site Manager and the Construction Manager in verifying the feasibility of the construction schedule on the ground of the actual availability at Site of technical documentation and materials.
– He ensures any addition or change to the technical documents according to Field requirements and he is responsible for reviewing of site technical queries, including field sketches and modifications to any project engineering drawings, as required.
– He executes, in coordination with Contractor Home Office, any modifications and additions to Project documents, providing for final “as-built” revision of the same.
Tasks
– To ensure the recording, filing, reproduction, proper distribution and control of Plant
Construction documents.
– Provide assistance to Construction Management/Supervision Group for Project system
definitions and turnover/hand over documentation at Project completion phase.
– To ensure inspection, as required to support the QA-QC group.
– Review, as required, construction method statements.
– To co-ordinate the engineering activities awarded to Subcontractors.
– To prepare his own section of the Monthly report.
– FIE leads a dedicated group of Discipline Engineers to perform Site Engineering: this group will provide clarifications of engineering documents to SUBCONTRACTOR, corrections of mistakes that invariably are found during the Construction phase and ensure timely availability and management of drawings to support the construction effort
Qualifications & Experience
– Background in Civil Discipline.
– Minimum of 5 years discipline experience in a supervisory capacity in civil construction.
– Experience in onshore and / or in big infrastructures construction.
– Experience on international site construction (Middle East – Gulf Area is preferred).

Location: Doha, Qatar
Duration: 6 months (extendable)
Working Hours: 9 hours per day, 5 days per week.
