Your day to day
This role provides support to the leadership team and their departments on all Quality improvement activities, operational training requirements and career development programs to all colleagues, to improve and maintain job performance.
Learning & Development
• Conduct Training Needs Analysis for the Hotel and utilize IHG training programs.
• Conduct the IHG technical training and development workshops to all job bands.
• Train departmental trainers and supervisors in techniques and skills for training.
• Evaluate departmental trainers performance and effectiveness of training programs.
• Plan monthly Department trainer meetings to review the operational department training needs analysis, the training plan for the upcoming month and targets to achieve.
• Liaise with schools and universities regarding placements of internship students.
• Monitor cross training progress and suggest for internal application for suitable internal vacancies.
• Plan and implement product knowledge assessment to maintain a high level of product knowledge throughout the property.
• Create a Talent pool of High Potentials from the Annual Performance Appraisals.
• Develop Succession plans for the Talent Pool with the Department Heads and monitor progress based on goals.
• Prepare the yearly Learning & Development budget in line with the corporate requirements.
Quality Assurance
• Support Leadership team in reviewing and analyse hotel guest feedback through various platforms on a regular basis and provide a clear understanding of the root cause of the issues and areas to improve.
• Participate in the daily operations meeting and share relevant data & hotel performance trends.
• Support operation team in facilitating monthly and quarterly, Quality/Guest Experience/Tactical Solve meetings and action planning sessions.
• Assist the leadership team in building the Quarterly Tactical Solve action planning.
• Develop and conduct service quality and brand standards audit with department head stakeholders.
• Support department heads in the annual quality evaluation audit and takes necessary actions post quality evaluation audit and guest experience evaluation.
• Promote service excellence initiatives across the hotel and identify training gaps to enhance the guest experience.
• Assist operations team on initiatives that drive guest satisfaction and business performance in key areas.
• Lead the implementation of IHG new quality tools and initiatives.
Brand
• Facilitate branded training focused on elevating the delivery of luxury service and the unique brand experience.
• Educate colleagues on the brand standards and ensure departmental training related to standards are taking place.
• Own on-going sustainment activities to foster branded service culture and delivery.
• Collaborate with brand team and corporate L&D teams to enhance the brand program for effective delivery on-property.
• Ensure compliance with new or updated brand standards on a bi-annual basis.
What we need from you
InterContinental Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort and Spa is scheduled to open Q3 2022 and we are now seeking a sharp and polished Learning and Quality Manager, who will drive exceptional guest experiences through targeted and measured training platforms along with a high level of attention to detail in quality assurance and standards.
Ideally, the candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience within a senior capacity in the Hotel Industry (5-star hotel preferable). You should be enthusiastic, spontaneous, & emphatic. You will bring strong interpersonal skills and excellent command of written and spoken English. Additional language is an added advantage. You should have a bachelor’s or master s degree in Human Resources or Quality Assurance with a proven track record of training capabilities.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support the Cluster Talent Resourcing Specialist in aligning and ensuring proper implementation of the resourcing policies and procedures to create the right environment and deliver the IHG commitment of providing “Room to Be Yourself” and to create the right environment in which our colleagues can experience “Room to have a Great Start”. The Cluster Talent Resourcing Officer will be involved in all general People & Culture activities to support and contribute to the overall success of the Human Resources strategy to deliver “True Hospitality for Good”.
The key responsibilities are:
- As a Cluster Talent Resourcing Officer, you will be Responsible for full cycle of recruitment of candidates. You will be reporting to the Cluster Director of Talent & People Development.
- Ensure adequate support, coaching, direction and motivation is provided to the team, for optimized performance.
- Actively administers posting of all vacancies through the IHG my Recruit website (powered by Lumesse).
- Updates all job postings and correspondences and ensures online and jobs boards’ postings are consistent to IHG standards and guidelines.
- Supports the Cluster Director of Talent & People Development. in managing recruitment processes from approving vacancies, posting positions, sourcing candidates, job offers, reference checks, contracts preparation, visa application, pre-employment and on boarding process.
- Manages and prepares the recruitment trackers and reports by actively updating current status of vacancies and in-process candidates to the Managers, Head of Departments and Executive Committee.
- Maintains the internal application processes, promotion, transfers and change of status notices.
- Supports the Talent Resourcing Team on recruitment activities such as Careers Open Day and coordinates with local and international recruitment agencies regularly to maintain a healthy pool of talents.
- Ambassador of all People & Culture activities to support and to contribute in the overall success of the Department.
- Maintain a healthy professional relationship with the hiring managers and keep them up to date by maintaining a proactive approach to resourcing, identifying challenges and providing resourcing solutions.
- Ensures that we deliver the best Guest Experience to our candidates throughout the recruitment cycle. Responsible in positively impacting “Room to have a great start” for all new colleagues.
- Ensuring the Arrival List is updated at all times with the details of all new joiners including allocated accommodation details.
- Responsible for implementing the Candidate Care processes to ensure both external candidates and employees experience the IHG Commitment, “Room to be yourself”.
- Performs all additional tasks as directed by the People & Culture management team.
- Ensuring all ad-hoc inquiries related to People & Culture processes are managed efficiently.
What we need from you
Ideally, you’ll have some or all of the following qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years professional experience as part of a resourcing team in a comparable capacity.
- Minimum academic requirements – Bachelors Degree/Diploma within Business/HR/Hospitality
- Competency in the use of an online recruitment system
- Competency-based Interviewing Skills Certification
- Strong English communication skills including a high level of impact and influence
- System and data analysis skills
- Strong Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrate strong competency in Microsoft office and e mail platforms
