Brief

Under the direction of the Internal Audit Manager, the role of Senior Auditor is to plan and execute risk-based internal audits for the company and its subsidiaries, as part of the company’s annual audit plan.
The Senior Auditor will conduct company audits from planning through to completion.  Tasks will include planning the audit process, research, reviewing current processes and providing recommendations to enhance company policies and procedures.
The Senior Auditor is responsible for the audit team and will supervise, motivate and develop the team of junior audit staff.  This role is required to review the work of junior personnel, as well as developing their skills and providing training and support.

Responsibilities

•    Participate in planning through the development of Audit Strategy & Plan.
•    Participate in the implementation of the Annual Audit Plan by operating according to the professional standards established by Internal Audit Department.
•    Apply audit including review of transactions, documents, records, reports, and policies and procedures to establish the effectiveness of existing controls, and identify the residual risk where controls are inadequate or absent.
•    Meeting with management and stakeholders to discuss findings and audit outcomes.
•    Allocate responsibilities to junior auditors through preparation of audit programs and review their work for accuracy and compliance.
•    Prepare and review audit working papers according to professional standards to record audit activities and substantiate identified audit findings.
•    Draft audit reports and memos to document findings, root causes, consequences and recommend ways to resolve them and safeguard against their re-occurrence.
•    Examine draft audit reports in collaboration with the Audit Manager and discuss any variances with concerned departments to reconcile any issue.
•    Complete audits on time and submit reports to the Audit Manager.
•    Ensure the follow-up of the implementation of action plans by leading the recommended closure of audit procedures.
•    Assist external auditors as requested.
•    Perform special audit assignments as required.

Technical Skills

Proficient in MS Office (especially Word and Excel) and accounting software.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in finance or Accounting or a related field.
Certifications such as: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
3-5 years relevant internal audit work experience.
In-depth understanding of auditing and control practices.
