What you will be doing

Our Buying Manager is responsible for leading a team of buyers towards the achievement of commercial tagets. Our Buying Manager will also set the buying strategy, OTBs and other KPIs for the team. You will be:

  • Setting the buying strategy for the team along with objectives and KPIs
  • Develop the buying team granting them full exposure to other areas of the business
  • Champion the relationship building with Supply Chain, Marketing and VM functions
  • Monitor buying cycles for all Brands and set the strategy for replenishment for the entire region
  • Ensure that the potential of the stores, in terms of purchase, is well captured by defining store grading and assortment range by type of stores
  • Ensure that the proposals of sell-out targets for in-season buying are set according to the best estimate on overall potential of categories by proposing sell-out targets per categories at the regional level
  • Ensure that the right lines of products are selected during buying to ensure a high level of sell-out
  • Set parameters of replenishment for basic references for the entire region (frequency, lead time, min-max, etc…)
  • Ensure that the tools and KPIs are in place in all countries to implement replenishment
  • Liaise with suppliers for discounts/ better terms when needed (or when supplier delays)
  • Set the PLVs and budget
  • Optimize turnover and profitability
  • Handle category management for the Brand and assortment planning in stores
  • Ensure that split by categories for a particular Brand is in line with the objectives set
  • Monitor that breakdown by categories is consistent with objectives set
  • Ensure that breakdown of purchase budget by category or SKUs in respect to objectives set
  • Ensure that assortment planning of stores optimizes turnover and profitability
  • Ensure that the Brand’s catalogue of references is available in store
  • Ensure that assortment is optimized throughout the season (transfers, discounts
  • Inspire the team and provide continuous guidance and mentorship in order to create a performance-driven culture
  • Drive the process of effective manpower planning, recruitment, training and development and ensure high level of employee engagement and motivation in the workplace

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Buying within Luxury Homeware or Gifting, ideally in a multibrand capacity
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills
  • Ability to build relationships with multiple stakeholders and brands
  • Experience in E-commerce

1. Organizational:
• Follow all relevant accounting policies, processes and standard operating procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
2. Operational:
• Implement activities under close supervision

A- Accounts Payable
i. Review AP ageing and inquire AP teams about aged balances.

ii. Ensure old variances are escalated and resolved.
C- Accounts Receivable:
i. Review AR ageing reports and request updates from the AR team.
ii. Review ECL calculations and compare it with policy provisions.
D- Reporting
i. Prepare all balance sheet schedules by the due date.
ii. Follow up with respective finance teams on timely reversals of accruals.
iii. Prepare audit schedules to facilitate audits.
iv. Keep track of audit outstanding lists and provide daily update to Group Head of Accounting and Finance
v. Prepare financial statements in word format and share with the auditors.

• University Degree in Accounting.
• A fully or partially qualified ACCA/CPA candidate.

We are looking for BI Manager in our Group Finance team, someone who loves working with data and wants to make an impact through strategic business partnering. You will have the opportunity to define, project manage & build data-driven solutions to drive investment decisions for the wider Finance, Operation and Commercial teams.
This key member of our team will provide value as the data and analytics expert, while interfacing with senior leadership and influencing the continued success of Finance.
You will partner with cross-functional teams and the wider Finance team to build and deliver accurate visual representations of key insights, which will tell accurate and thought-provoking stories.
The ideal candidate will have a functional pedigree in financial services, combined with strong analytical, communication and technical skills, with a focus towards growth and operational efficiency.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Strategic:
  • Working collaboratively with the Group Data and Analytics Team, develop the data transformation plan of the Finance function in line with its strategic objectives
  • Formulate and communicate ‘Business Intelligence’ performance objectives and continuously monitor progress and alignment towards strategic objectives

2. Managerial:

  • Oversee the operations of the Business Intelligence, provide expertise, encourage teamwork and facilitate related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and staff pride in contribution
  • Monitor the yearly budget of the Department and control expenditure to ensure optimal use

3. Operational:

  • Harness multi-source data and apply analytics to extract useful business metrics & insights
  • Explore, extract, analyze and craft data-driven narratives through compelling visualizations using dashboard and BI softwares, such as Power-BI, Looker and other internal front-end systems
  • Review and establish trackable KPIs, identify correlation/causality relationships and provide continuous feedback on business performance
  • Partner with the FP&A team to produce accurate, timely and meaningful management dashboards
  • Build cross-functional momentum for operational improvements and partner effectively with other teams
  • Manage and maintain ongoing dashboards and views, and overviewing the ETL process (Extract, Transform and Load) from various sources
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of business opportunities based on historic data modeling and predictive algorithms; propose business development projects
  • Evaluate digital project proposals from back-end/data perspective and consult the business internally as a subject matter expert.
  • Ensure continuous alignment and drive change management across all business units/regions/segments through planning and reporting cycles
  • Manage the full scope of business intelligence projects, turning data into actionable insights (growth or efficiencies) for the relevant business functions (sales, distribution, marketing, supply chain, procurement, etc.)

4. People Management:

  • Assign individual objectives for employee performance management purposes, manage performance, empower staff, and provide formal and informal feedback in order to support professional development and maximize performance
  • Manage resources contracted from Outsourced Vendors and Freelancers
What you’ll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in product management or technical consulting
  • Behavior/predictive analysis and/or data analytics development experience.
  • Plus: Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline. MBA, Master-in-Finance or CAs, CIMA, CFAs or any relevant field.
  • Relevant Certification such as Business Intelligence Certification (CPBI).
  • Entrepreneurial / pioneering spirit with the vision and energy to identify and seize opportunities for innovation
  • Extensive work experience in analytically demanding financial or strategic services role in Consulting, Corporate Finance or FP&A at a top tier firm
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an understanding of core financial processes
  • Experience with relational database tools and coding (e.g., SQL, SQL Editor for Oracle, DAX, R, Python)
  • Familiarity with data analytics and visualization software. Ideally, Power BI, LOOKER.
  • Proven and effective cross-functional communication skills in a high-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven strength at integrating disparate information and understanding data trends with minimal direction
